GOOD LUCK: THE FILM

Co-directed by DEBBY FRIDAY and Nathan De Paz Habib (The Bicycle, Eroica), GOOD LUCK tells the love story of a young woman and her masked beloved through hypnagogic sequences that blur the line between dreams and reality. As the accompanying visual to her debut album of the same name, it is a pseudo-autobiographical tale, largely drawn from FRIDAY's own life and experiences growing up as a zillenial anti-heroine. GOOD LUCK is a surrealist reflection on the tumultuous whirlwind that is the end of adolescence and the emotionality of youth.

BARE BONES

An experimental short film written, directed and scored by DEBBY FRIDAY. Conceived during the Covid-19 lockdown and shot in Vancouver, BC on 16mm, the film tells the story of a young woman who swallows a bee and begins to undergo a hallucinatory and transformative experience. Abstract visual sequences depict time and space fracturing around her as she succumbs to wave after wave of pure feeling.
