DEBBY FRIDAY is a musician, writer, filmmaker and philosopher. She is currently based in Toronto, Canada.
A self-described experimentalist, Friday’s art practice spans the spectrum of the audio-visual.
Her work frequently explores themes of hybridity, femininity, the erotic and the esoteric.
In her free time, she runs a blog and a podcast.
She holds an Honours BSocSci in Women’s Studies and Political Science
from the University of Ottawa (2016)
and an MFA in Interdisciplinary Studies from Simon Fraser University (2021).
In 2023, she won the Polaris Music Prize for her debut LP, GOOD LUCK.
In 2020 and 2022, she was nominated for the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television’s Prism Prize Award.
